A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an official announcement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This occurrence is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
