Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile supporters as she makes her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of Donald Trump, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns several golf courses and regularly matches against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she mentioned.

She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."

"He practically advised me to go out there and relax," she added.

"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with running the country, making him quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments recently and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.

But she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Kai's mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.

"And he's a more impressive human being. He told me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."

She'll challenge some of most prominent players in the sport at the Annika, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

The LPGA mentioned that Kai's presence exposes golf to new audiences, particularly reaching youth audiences.

Kai has millions of followers and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness company.

Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
